Vocational Education & Training
For decades, students have gone to school and then, straight into university. Some drop out from either of those options. Along with our allied partners, Aston College brings in vocational courses, for students transitioning from school to skill-based employment.
The growth in population and rapid industrialisation of developing economies has already given shape to a ‘global labour market’. In advanced economies, the demand for high skilled labour has grown at a pace, faster than a clock can tick. This implies that there is a huge demand for skilled labour, which is very hard to find, given that demand outweighs the supply. With Aston College, our employment based skills training equips our students with the much needed know-how for the developed and developing economies.
A student can choose courses from Certificate III up to Diploma level. These courses facilitate the necessary skills, on the one hand and an Australian qualification for the domain, on the other, upon successful completion of the course. Students can, thus, find better employment opportunities in either their home country or countries like the U.A.E, Singapore, Korea and Japan.
Possessing a recognized qualification sets our students apart, from the rest of the crowd that want to get the foot through the door. Our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform tasks better and not be exploited, which is predominantly the case, in the absence of a supporting qualification. These skill-based trainings ensure increasing opportunities to land onto better paying jobs and also a ‘pathway’, in case the student wishes to study further.
The courses are for anyone seeking new skills, upgrading existing skills, using the course as a refresher or simply to gain entry into the workforce. Additionally, Aston College is working tirelessly, with a number of employment agencies, to facilitate job placement for our students, to create sustainable growth in the current skills deficient economies.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL is an important tool in Australian Qualification, that enables individuals to get their previous knowledge and experience recognized and obtain globally recognized qualification.
You might have worked for a role that was either paid (employment) or unpaid (internship or volunteer). The roles that you have worked on can be recognized, through the RPL platform, provided it is supported by adequate evidences. In such a case, instead of sitting in a classroom and going through the same thing over and over, you can leverage on getting some or all of your Units of Competency recognized and increase the pace of your vocation.
Aston offers a wide range of courses, from Certificate III to Diploma levels, in Hospitality, Fitness, Agriculture, Logistics, Individual Care and Building Construction, which could help you position yourself better in the job market (in terms of designation as well as emoluments).
Pre-Assessment
Aston College determines your application for RPL via an assessment review. Upon successful assessment, Aston College Student Services Officer informs you if you are eligible for RPLs and can move to the next phase.
Evidence Portfolio
Once eligibility is confirmed, the Student Services Officer will guide you, with respect to the requirements for your Portfolio.
Post-Assessment
You either move onto the next step or get a Trainer and Assessor. The Trainer and Assessor helps you fill the gaps for the domain. This is the case with most of the applications from students, wherein, gaps are identified and bridged. The gap training will be provided by Aston College. #
Get Qualified
Depending on the outcome of the previous step, you will gain a Nationally Recognized Qualification or a Statement of Attainment, with your Aston assessed skills.
# if the gap training is merely an assessment, no charge would apply. However, if there are more assessments to be made and training to be provided, charges would apply. The cost would depend on the extent of gap assessed and would be notified after the assessment.
Immediate benefits that you derive through RPL
- Easy, fast, intuitive, and efficient tool to identify and recognize your existing skill sets
- Saves you from attending repetitive classes and helps streamline your education process
- Saves you considerable amount of time and money, when it comes to completing the education program of your choice
- Upon completion, it rewards you with a valuable Statement of Attainment, skill set or qualification that is recognized globally
- Improves your employment opportunities in the global market or advances your career by getting into supervisory roles.
