Cambridge Advance English (CAE)
Aston College offers English Language classes using Cambridge English Empower resources. The objective is to facilitate students who have language ability of Pre-Intermediate (B1), Intermediate (B1+), Upper Intermediate (B2) and Advanced (C1) to further improve their skills of the language. We only accept students from Pre-Intermediate, thus, using each component of the course and aiming towards improving the students’ English level. Once the course for a particular level is successfully completed, the students move on to the next class. Each level forms a basis for students to move to more specialized areas of test preparation, however, students who have completed Advanced level and achieved C1 are now more than ready to attempt the official CAE examination, for migrating and studying in a university.
Each level of English with Aston College is marked using the Common European Framework.
- Pre-Intermediate (B1)
- Intermediate (B1+)
- Upper Intermediate (B2)
- Advanced (C1)
Not only will the courses prepare students to understand the requirements of the official Cambridge Advanced English exams, they will also provide learners with the language skills necessary to communicate effectively in academic as well as professional settings.
The courses span across 4 to 12, weeks for each level. As Aston College uses ‘Empower’ resources and our very own personal training content, we have blended the learning and added interactive course material, to make learning and improving your language skills a lot easier. Students undertaking Aston’s Pathway Program will be preparing for CAE exams over the duration of the program, for 1.5 hours each day.
Students will use course material that contain striking images and videos, along with thought provoking text extracts. These are designed to generate an emotional response, encouraging both students and teachers to have an active and interactive session. It targets ‘real world’ use of the English class, with lots of visuals and sound effects, for easier learning, that students can recall during the exams. Despite audio and visuals in the class, students will be reading and writing as well. Students will also have to listen to various native speakers and their respective accents. Students will have to hold group discussion within the class, or outside, to improve their confidence in speaking English. Learners will be required to participate in role plays, to understand the art of conversation, including listening and communicating effectively.
Our assessments during the course are developed and validated by Cambridge English Language Assessment, which means it is accurate and fair, thus, preparing students for the official test. Our techniques prepare you not only to sit for the exam, but also use the acquired skills in real life scenarios.
